Compare UPC Barcode Companies
Buy from a legitimate and verified Barcode Company.

We appreciate your business and we take this industry serious. A UPC Barcode is the one thing that will help you get your products into retail stores or on line with Amazon.
We have a lot of information on our site because we want you to be well informed about barcodes. We know it’s confusing and we know that there are a lot of competitors who do not tell the truth or, they stretch the truth about UPC Barcodes.
For the purpose of comparison, here is some brief information about us, before you start reading about the other barcode providers.
Many of the companies who are providing barcodes have been verified by George Laurer (inventor of the UPC barcode) – See list above.
We want your business….we also want to reward you for taking the time to read this article on comparing barcode companies.
Many of the barcode resellers have not responded to Mr. Laurer’s repeated emails requesting information, the advertising on their website is misleading or patently untrue or he could not verify the information they submitted.
NATIONWIDE BARCODE – VERIFIED
We own and have access to multiple prefixes. In 4 years, we have sold nearly 2,000,000 UPC (and EAN) barcodes.
Our core business is marketing….helping businesses succeed. Prior to this we were in content development (audio, video, books, eBooks, software, etc.) and media manufacturing (VHS, Diskettes, CD, DVD, USB, etc.). We received a large number of prefixes from these previous businesses that all predate 2002. As members of the Software Industry, we also have licensed several dozen prefixes from some of our former clients who had prefixes. All of our prefixes are grandfathered with no constraints and no renewal fees. Since we have many, many prefixes we intend to be here for a very, very long time. Our aim is to be the last man standing in this industry. Our goal is to be here for you.
- We supply both EAN and UPC numbers. Here is a great article from our book Barcodes Demystified – http://www.nationwidebarcode.com/Barcodes-Demystified/#/8/
- We provide two graphic formats – eps and jpg. We provide the jpg at 600 dpi (high resolution). The eps is a scalable vector image.
- We provide a transfer of ownership/certificate of authenticity.
- You get a spreadsheet of all numbers
- We provide all barcodes immediately via automatic delivery
- We have a toll free number answered by a handful of customer service reps. Our corporate office is outside of Seattle and our field office is in Reno Nevada. We strive to have 100% satisfaction.
- We guarantee that barcodes are 100% unique. We have set up our database as a number is pulled, it is locked out of our system and we can neither put it back it nor sell it to another client. We will not take barcodes back because a client changes their mind. Once we e-mail a barcode to a customer, they own it. We cannot risk possible duplication of numbers. Beware of companies that will take barcodes back.
- We provide a number of other services including free tech support.
- We are the most knowledgeable and we will help you to navigate through the world of barcodes. We are your safety net!
- There is a lot of information on this site. Here is our recent article about how we do what we do: http://www.nationwidebarcode.com/nationwide-barcode-fact/
- 100% Secure Credit Card Processing – your internet safety is very important to us.

The following information provided has been pulled off our competitors sites and is meant as a way to compare prices, services and business practices.
GS1
This is where all barcodes originate. Here is an article on our site that goes into detail about us and them: http://www.nationwidebarcode.com/purchase-barcodes/gs1-or-nationwide-barcode/
Code UPC.net has not been verified by George Laurer
Except for an e-mail address, Code UPC.net does not have any contact information on their website.
Code UPC.net does not provide graphics for their barcode.
Cheap UPC Barcodes – cheap-upc-barcode.com – Not verified
This company shows a very low price for barcodes and within their licensing agreement indicate a yearly renewal fee. They mention that they pay renewal fees. This means that they purchased their prefix after 2002 and are in violation of their agreement with the GS1.
This also leads us to believe that barcodes not renewed will go back into their pool of inventory. Even if a client stops paying renewal fees, this does not mean the barcode ceases to exist in retail marketplace. Amazon, for one, will not allow a barcode number to be de-listed. This means that there is a very high chance of duplicate barcodes issued to multiple customers.
A1 Barcode (Also known as Buy UPC Code.com) – VERIFIED
One Barcode for $75.00, 10 for $400.00 – Their parent company is Angela Islands. They are selling off the balance of a single prefix.
Assignable UPC – VERIFIED
One Barcode for $13.95 – 99 barcodes for $5.60 each. – NBot competitive, their parent company is a candle company. They are selling off the balance of their prefix. When they are sold out, they will more than likely cease operation with barcodes.
Barcodes For Amazon
Range of Prices are from 9.95 to 4.95. If you need graphics, you need to call him on his cell phone or email him.
BARCODES USA (MOZIAN & ASSOCIATES)
They provide either a TIF or a JPG image file (no eps vector files). Prices range from 19.95 to 9.95 in volume. Their site has not been updated since 2009
BUY UPC BARCODES – http://www.buyupcbarcodes.com/ – Signet Designs
Barcodes are $26.50 for one and scale down to $12.50 for 100+
BUYABARCODE.COM
Single Barcodes are $85.00/reorders are $35.00 – They do have quantity prices — as low as $7.95
They mention that they are the only Barcode source featured in the Wall Street Journal. This is a legacy article published on-line on September 4, 2007 prior to the inception of many other barcode companies (including Nationwide Barcode). BuyABarcode claims an endorsement by TheBarcodeRegistry.com – This is their company with no known affiliations to any retailers or UPC database organizations.
Buy a Barcode only provides jpg graphics. This is not a good format for professional designers who prefer .eps scalable images (vector)
Bar Code My Product (Thailand)
They sell barcodes ranging from $20.00 to $5.00 – they are located in Thailand and also sell Pigs and Boar Sperm.
BARCODES TALK
Very competitively priced, automated system. They state that they allow people to return barcodes for any reason within 7 days of purchase. Returned barcodes could create a duplication of barcodes in the marketplace.
ENGAGING VENTURES
The information on this site is at least a year old. Prices range from $9.95 for one to $3.95 for volume prices
EZUPC.com
The range of prices are $19.99 for 1 to $4.49 for 200+. They provide eps, jpg and tif files. This seems to be a great company with the exception of a money back guarantee. Accepting barcodes back could create a potential risk that the barcode could have been used by another client when returned to inventory.
IWANTMYBARCODE.COM (Owned by HL Outdoors of the Everlasting Slip Bobber)
This business is owned by Steve Leroy Johnson who obtained a prefix for his fishing products and had extra barcodes remaining. He set up this business to sell off those barcodes. He sells barcodes for $22.00 for one with tiered volume pricing as low as $5.00 each for 100.
LEGAL UPC BARCODES (Different than LegalBarcodes)
This is one of the new kids on the block – They have a single prefix and only sell batches of 1 to 1000 (per their website). They also show a UCC (GS1) letter stating that they may not subdivide their barcode prefix. Per the letter on their website: THE UPC number system character and manufacturer number is for the sole use of the applicant and is a restricted asset of the member to whom it is assigned. It seems their UPC prefix was provided for a restricted set of products.
LEGAL BARCODES (Different than LegalUPCBarcodes)
This company has been verified by George Laurer. Their barcode prices are $39.00 for one with a buy one – get one free deal. (As of 1/29/2012, their site has a copyright date of 2006 – they may not be actively selling any longer.)
SINGLE UPC .COM
Their Google ad states that they are the #1 Trusted Source for UPC Numbers with Prices at $.40
When you click on their linked ad (http://www.singleupc.com/upcresellers.htm) their site states “Beware of Deals which seem too good to be true” – the $0.40 barcodes cannot be found anywhere on their site. According to their site, prices range from $23.00 to $14.00 each. They have a lot of good information on their site about barcodes and how they work, however, their pricing and their advertising does not live up to their claim of being the #1 Trusted Source.
UPCCODE.NET – Simply Barcodes
Their value proposition is that they are the most visited and preferred site to safely buy official, legal UPC codes.
They charge $89.00 per barcode which places them in the category of being the most expensive barcode provider. There is no correlation between being the most expensive and providing a barcode that is any different than the other providers.
QUALITYUPC.com Quality UPC
Prices range from $29.99 for 1 to $8.99 for 200+. They provide eps, pdf and tif files (no jpg).
UPCBARCODES.BIZ
One Barcode for 29.00 – 100+ for 12.00. Their site copyright is 2008 and has not been updated since then.
There are other barcode businesses that come and go…please research every aspect before you make a purchase
